The City of Coppell Community Development Department is seeking a detail-driven and technically skilled Residential/Commercial Inspector to support our mission of administering and enforcing building construction, fire, zoning, and neighborhood integrity codes. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, well-maintained community by conducting in-depth plan reviews, field inspections, and compliance assessments to uphold construction standards.
Our ideal candidate has a strong construction background, with expertise in foundation, framing, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. Proficiency in the ICC (International Code Council) suite of codes is essential for success in this role. This position involves both field and office work, collaborating with contractors, builders, and internal teams to enforce codes, review plans, and drive construction excellence.

Pay Plan
This opportunity is non-exempt and on Pay Grade #11. The full Pay Grade Range is shown for growth and development opportunities within the grade.
Salary determination is supported by budget availability and qualifications of the candidate to maintain internal equity.
Hiring Range: $24.-79-$35.94
Min $24.79 ($51,570)
Mid $30.37 ($63,168)
Max $35.94 ($74,765)
