Petroplan is recruiting an experienced candidate to join our client?? team as an Environmental Specialist. This role will focus on supporting environmental permitting activities related to the design and construction of LNG export facilities and associated pipelines in the Southeast US.In addition to project-related responsibilities, this role offers the chance to contribute to the development of company-wide environmental programs and initiatives.This position has the ability to be based at our LNG clients??corporate offices in Arlington, VA, or Houston, TX. Please note that Minimal travel to project sites is expected.Key Responsibilities:The Environmental Specialist will be responsible for preparing permit applications for submission to federal, state, and local agencies, coordinating with these agencies throughout the review process, and establishing programs to ensure regulatory compliance during construction.Lead environmental coordination efforts across engineering, right-of-way, and public affairs teams to secure required environmental approvals for timely project execution.Monitor adherence to environmental permits, regulations, and company standards.Engage effectively with regulatory agencies during permit acquisition and review processes.Assess construction progress and oversee compliance with environmental requirements.Design and implement policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits.Manage environmental data and maintain relevant databases.Qualifications:Bachelor?? degree in Environmental Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.A minimum of 3 years of experience with federal and state environmental permitting in the oil and gas industry, with a preference for familiarity with Louisiana permitting processes.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.Ability to present technical information clearly.
